The Lamberhurst Area
The historic village of Lamberhurst was once famous for its iron, the great Gloucester furnaces produced the iron rails round St.Paul's Cathedral. Now the village has relaxed into a quieter pace offering visitors beautiful countryside and food. Lamberhurst is a great base to explore castles, cathedrals, museums and historic houses; they are all part of the scenery. Located just 40 miles south of London, the area combines history and some great leisure activities.
This one bedroom cottage has been tastefully converted from former outbuildings of the owner's 17th Century Grade II Listed house.
The old Dairy is a ground floor wing providing three bedrooms and two shower rooms and has great views over the golf course.
Is this the oldest tree in England?
According to preservation charity the Kent Men of the Trees, this yew located next door could be as much as 6,000 years old, making it a firm contender for the title.
The yew is officially registered as an "ancient tree" by the trust, which will enable it to be preserved and protected from harm.
